Community Advisory Group
The role of the Community Advisory Group is to work with Project staff to:
- Serve as liaison with area neighborhoods, businesses, and community organizations.
- Plan and implement outreach activities in the target area neighborhoods and community, ensuring that residents, businesses, and organizations in the area are informed and involved in project activities.
- Facilitate the development of strategic housing goals with neighborhood groups.
- Assist in identifying local housing issues and advise on strategies to address those issues, defining housing needs and solutions for their neighborhoods/communities.
- Assist in bringing together their respective neighborhoods to participate with faculty and students in the development of neighborhood housing goals.
- Take part in design workshops and decision-making and educational activities with their respective constituencies and University faculty and students, providing input and responses to proposed designs and plans.
- Participate in reviews of various research activities, including the area housing market study, land inventory and analysis, innovative technology studies, and the development of housing design alternatives.
- Provide opportunities for residents to learn more about the home buying process and about Fair Housing, predatory lending, and opportunities for home buying assistance.
